Let's Bee Friends

This little guy was so happy rolling around in our squash blossom.  He is all covered in pollen!

New Microwave!

We finally got a microwave that matches our appliances.  We were motivated to buy a new one because Craig gave our old microwave to our tenant.  I think it looks pretty spiffy.

Now I can't help but notice our toaster doesn't match the rest of the kitchen... it never ends.

My favorite room:

Hail Storm :(

There was a crazy hail storm this afternoon!  Luckily I was home so I could shut the upstairs windows that were open.  The hail was about the size of quarters and it was so loud hitting the windows!  I thought for sure they might break.  I got a video of how loud it was and a picture to show how much there was!

It definitely wasn't good for the garden!  As you can see there are holes straight through most the the squash leaves and many stems are broken.  The corn is a bit roughed up but looks like it was pretty resilient.

Craig phoned me from work to ask me to check on the corn while it was still hailing!  Now I know that he values the corn more than my personal safety.  I waited for the hail to subside before braving the rain to check on it.

The garden looks so sad :(

Craig is weird.

The corn is coming along nicely!

SQUASH!

We have a tenant!

We have chosen a tenant from several applicants.  We chose someone who was referred to as quiet by all references... hopefully that is true!  Looking forward to the bonus income starting in September.

New Couch Finally Arrived!

I couldn't get a better photo because the old couch is actually still in the room and I had to position my camera creatively to not have it in the photo!  I plan to get a coffee table and end tables to match our tv stand and then the living room will be finished.  Except for the walls, they will eventually be bright green (one day when I am brave enough to paint them green).

Basement for Rent

We have officially listed our basement as vacant!  We have had 2 people come see it so far, but no takers yet.

Garden Update

The garden is looking pretty good!

The squash are staring to expand to take over the carrots, herbs, and spinach!

It's a turtle!

The first finished project from my sewing room.  I love having the space dedicated specifically to sewing.
